The Voice of the Copper River Valley

The Caribou Clatters is a message service for people living in rural areas of Alaska. These Alaskans have no regular access to telephones and often receive mail by plane only once a week or less. Often the Clatters, though one-way, are the only regular communication that family and friends have with people in the Bush.

The Caribou Clatters are received and read by KCAM’s announcers during the KCAM news reports, airing at about 7:30 am, 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. following FOX Sports and between 9 and 9:15 p.m. after FOX Sports. Each Clatter is read at three consecutive newscasts to ensure that the recipient hears his or her message. You may leave a Clatter using any of the following:

  • Phone: (907) 822-3306
  • Fax: (907) 822-3761
  • E-mail: caribouclatters@yahoo.com

Please speak clearly and use the following format in both spoken and written messages:
